Belfast pervefrt placed on the sex offenders register

A Belfast man has been placed on the sex offenders register for five years following a joint NCA-PSNI investigation.

Michael Graham, 38, was sentenced at the city’s Laganside Crown Court on 12th December having admitted four counts of possessing, and five counts of making, indecent images of children.

He was additionally placed on probation for three years and will afterwards be supervised for a year.

NCA and PSNI officers arrested Graham in 2016 and on examining his laptop found 100 indecent images of children images which he had downloaded from the internet.

Rob Burgess, the NCA’s regional head of investigations for Scotland and Northern Ireland, said: “NCA and PSNI officers work together to protect the public from serious and organised crime.

“Those who download, share or view indecent images of children prolong the abuse of the victims.

“Michael Graham will now have regular contact with the authorities in order to stop him re-offending.”
