Grinning pervert groomed underage girl and had sex with her

This grinning pervert groomed an underage girl on the internet and then had sex with her, even though she told him she was “not ready”.

Derby Crown Court heard how Kieran Carr sent a photograph of his private parts to a different underage girl over social media after befriending both victims online.

The 21-year-old talked the first girl into sending him an indecent image of her breasts, but when he asked to meet her for sex she refused.

At the same time, Carr was grooming his second victim who he talked into meeting up with him and they had sex four times in one evening.

Sarah Allen, prosecuting, said: “She was a virgin before the incident and she told the defendant she was not ready to have sex with him.

“But she felt her choices had been taken away from her.”

Supported by her family, the girl wept in court as she bravely faced Carr and heard the details of the night she spent with him.

Miss Allen said she was contacted by him over Facebook and they started exchanging messages.

She said: “He told her she was beautiful and sent her a photograph of his private parts. He started asking her about her underwear.

“She said she was under 16 and that she did not have any lacy underwear.”

Miss Allen said that, on the night that victim and Carr met in Swadlincote, she told her mother she was staying at a friend’s house, but went to see him instead.

During that evening he talked her into having sex with him four times.

She said: “She felt that she could not leave because she had lied to her mother.”

Miss Allen said the issues came to light when her school noticed a change in her behaviour and the police became involved.

The investigation revealed he had also tried to groom a second underage girl, also sending her a picture of his private parts over social media.

But when that girl refused to meet him, Carr, formerly of Swadlincote and now of Hayley Avenue, Loughborough, “turned nasty”.

At first he denied the offences, which took place in 2017, but then later pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a child, meeting a child following grooming, having sexual communication with a child and possession of an indecent image.

What did Carr getJudge Shaun Smith QC handed him a two-year jail term, suspended for two years.

He also ordered him to carry out 240 hours unpaid work, handed him a six-month curfew and ordered him to undertake 30 rehabilitation days with the probation service.

He also handed Carr a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and made him sign the sex offender’s register, also for 10 years.

Judge Smith said: “You are assessed by both a psychiatrist and a psychologist as low risk of re-offending and the probation service feel you are capable of being rehabilitated in the community.”
