Pervert caught with vile photos of children as young as two years old is too ill for sentencing

A pervert busted with child sex abuse images is too sick through “alcohol poisoning” to face the music for his crime.

Graham Tomlinson, 46, was snared with a vile photo stash of kids as young as two being violated.

Tomlinson claimed he had been “only looking for adult porn” when he was caught with 750 pictures depicting the exploitation of youngsters.

The pervert of Kilwynet Way, Paisley, pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children when he appeared in the dock at a pre-trial hearing.

He was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register and released on bail while the court called for background reports.

Tomlinson was expected to appear for sentencing yesterday at the hearing before Sheriff James Spy when he failed to show up in the dock.

Defence agent Jonathan Manson explained his client was in hospital receiving treatment for alcohol poisoning and was too ill to attend  court.

He said: “He is still in hospital.

“Hospital staff have sent me a text message to confirm that.

“He will be in hospital for a few days and I would ask the court to adjourn the
matter.”

Sheriff Spy asked the lawyer to confirm when Tomlinson would be out of hospital and whether background reports would address his current problems.

Mr Manson replied: “It is alcohol poisoning.

“That is the reason he is in hospital.”

The court was told forensic analysis of his mobile phone revealed there were 750 indecent images featuring the sexual exploitation of children aged between two and 14.

Cyber Crime Unit analysis discovered 71 category A photos — the worst level of classification.

His phone also contained 93 category B images and 585 category C photos.

Sheriff Spy continued the case until December 20.
