Pervert caught by paedophile hunting team

A pervert who believed he was grooming a schoolgirl for sex has avoided a prison sentence

Andrew Brunton of Highbridge appeared at Taunton Magistrates Court on the 3rd of October 2019 where he plead Guilty to:

  • Adult Attempt To Engage With Sexual Communication With A Child

The court was told that Brunton had contacted the online profile of someone he believed was a 14 year old girl.

Brunton sent a string of sexual messages with the clear intention of engaging the girl into sexual activity.

However, the child did not exist was instead a decoy from paedophile hunting team ‘Uk database’ who pose online as children in a bid to catch sexual predators who target children

In April 2018, The UK database team confronted Brunton at his home address, where they asked him a series of questions about his internet activity. The police were called and Brunton was arrested.

Brunton appeared again at Taunton Magistrates Court on the 30th of October 2019 and was sentenced to:

  • 12 Months Community Order – To Work 40 Hours Unpaid Work Over The 12 Month Period
