A man has been jailed for seven years after pleading guilty to a number of offences including attempting to pay for the sexual services of a child.
Tyrel Benjamin, 25, (22.05.94) of Harrow, previously pleaded guilty at Southwark Crown Court to attempting to pay for the sexual services of a child, arranging the commission of a child sex offence, breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and distribution of indecent images.
In committing these offences, he breached a 12-month suspended sentence issued at Cardiff Crown Court on 17 May 2018 for previous possession of indecent images offences.
At Southwark Crown Court on Friday, 15 November he was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment and a further two years on extended licence.
Benjamin came to the attention of detectives earlier this year as a result of a covert police operation involving both the Met and the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit.
He was arrested on Wednesday, 3 July in central London, after paying £150 which he believed was to allow him to sexually abuse a young child.
