Accrington man claims he was sent indecent child images from girl in USA
A man has admitted several charges involving possessing dozens of indecent images of children.
Ryan Neary, 20, of Burnley Road, Accrington pleaded guilty to five separate charges during an appearance at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court.
He admitted possessing 12 category A images, two category B along with 58 category C images.
Other charges to which Neary pleaded guilty were possessing 12 prohibited images of children and possession of two extreme pornographic images.
Prosecutor Tracy Yates said that officers executed a warrant at his home address on August 24 last year.
She said: “He co-operated fully and gave passwords to phones and computers where the illegal images was found.
“During interview he fully admitted the offences. He said he had met a girl online in the USA who he would play games with.
“He said she had sent the images and video clips to him through Skype and he had not deleted them but had not distributed them.”
The bench sent the matter for sentence at Burnley Crown Court on November 11 and ordered reports on Neary to be prepared.
