Stockton man, 24, admits being in possession of over 120 indecent images

A Stockton man has admitted being in possession of over 120 indecent images.

James Michael Lamb was caught by police after they found the images on various electronic devices during an unrelated investigation.

The 24-year-old pleaded guilty to possession of indecent images at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Natalie Robinson, prosecuting, said Lamb committed the offence between January 1, 2014 and January 19, 2017.

“There was an investigation ongoing for something unrelated regarding his ex-partner”, she said.

“The devices were seized and various devices in his possession had indecent images of children.”

The court was told that 122 category C images were found on the devices.

“He accepted the devices were his but suggested that the images had not be placed there by him”, Ms Robinson added.

In mitigation, Emma Williams said Lamb, of Rook Lane, Stockton, had “no previous convictions” and that the offence was “out of character”.

Sentencing was adjourned until September 5 to allow for a pre-sentence report to be compiled.

He was given unconditional bail until that date.
