Darlington man jailed for raping and assaulting young woman over a six year period
A man has been jailed for more than ten years after subjecting his young victim to six years of rape and assault.
Albert Sykes, of Honeypot Lane, Darlington, was sentenced at Grimsby Crown Court to ten years and six months and placed onto the sex offenders register for life.
The 43-year-old was found guilty of sexual assault, two counts of rape, assault by beating and two counts of dangerous driving.
Sykes rammed the victim’s car off the road when he feared the victim was about to report the abuse.
The court heard that the victim was 15-years-old when the offender committed his first attack on her.
