Pervert snared by paedophile hunters jailed for asking ‘teen girls’ to have sex
Anthony Fish, of Washington, thought he was speaking to three young girls but it was members of the Guardians of the North and Dark Justice
A pervert was caught by paedophile hunters after chatting to what he thought were three teenage girls and asking them to have sex.
Anthony Fish, of Coach Road Estate, Washington, used online apps to message who he thought were two 13-year-old girls and a 15-year-old girl.
But they were in fact fake profiles set up by members of the Guardians of the North and Dark Justice.
Fish was jailed for 16 months at Durham Crown Court after he pleaded guilty to three counts of attempting to entice a child to engage in sexual activity and two of attempting to meet a child after sexual grooming.
Prosecutor Liam O’Brien told the court the conversations took place on July 23 last year, with Fish asking each of the girls if they would have sex with him.
The court also heard Fish sent indecent images and explicit messages to the girls.
Judge Christopher Prince said the defendant had seen an opportunity “and intended to take advantage of it”.
Judge Prince acknowledge that the incidents took place over one day, but added: “It was three separate, apparently young girls, and highly sexualised conversations and sending indecent images.”
As well as being sent to prison, Fish was placed on the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.
