Paedophile waited at hotel to tie up 12-year-old and abuse her
A paedophile was caught in a hotel room with a horrific bag full of sex toys, ropes, wine and Viagra after arranging to meet a 12-year-old girl for sex.
Derby Crown Court heard how disgusting Kenneth Bond was naked underneath his dressing gown and had taken the alcohol to “soften up” the pre-teen he thought he was encountering.
But the father of the girl, a man who called himself “Dirty Tony” in their vile internet chats while arranging the meet, was really an undercover Derbyshire police officer.
Now the twisted 58-year-old has been jailed for three years.
Judge Nirmal Shant QC told him: “I have no doubt in my mind your intention was to tie up the child and have forcible sexual intercourse with her.
“You did everything you could, believing this was a real child, to commit very serious sexual offences on her.
“What is plain is that this was not just a fanciful idea in a conversation with a man you believed was her father.
“You took toys and presents for the girl and bag full of sex toys.”
Jonathan Dunne, prosecuting, said Bond started communicating with the undercover police officer on an internet chat room in November last year.
He said that, within a short space of time, they discussed how “Dirty Tony” had a 12-year-old daughter called “Lucy” who he was sexually active with.
Through their online communication they agreed to meet at a hotel at East Midlands Airport on November 23 which Bond thought would see both men have sex with the underage girl.
Mr Dunne said: “In their internet chat, which was of the most graphic type imaginable, the defendant said he would bring a range of sex toys with him and some wine to soften and loosen Lucy up.
“Tony arrived at the hotel room and the defendant opened up a bag.
“In it were vibrators, a ball gag, leg restraints and Viagra.
“There was a knock at the door, police officers arrived and arrested both men, although (in Tony’s case) this was for show.
“In the room was a teddy bear and significantly the defendant was naked underneath the dressing gown he was wearing.
“There were were two open bottles of wine on a table.”
Mr Dunne said Bond was interviewed and answered “no comment” to each of the questions he was asked.
But he later pleaded guilty to intentionally arranging to meet a child for the purposes of sex and a second count of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
Defence barrister Nicola Hunter said her client, of Worcester Road, Malvern, Worcestershire, has no previous convictions for any child sex offences.
She said: “He is of positive good character with a long career.
“He raised a family which, as a result of this conviction and drink issues which possibly brought about this offending, he no longer has contact with.”
As well as the jail term, Judge Shant placed Bond on the sex offender register for life and handed him a sexual harm prevention order.
Paedophile travelled to hotel near Derby for sex with 12-year-old
A 57-year-old paedophile has admitted trying to arrange to meet a 12-year-old girl for sex at a hotel near Derby.
Wearing a blue jumper and a blue coat, Kenneth Bond pleaded guilty to two child sex charges when he appeared from custody at Derby Crown Court.
The hearing was told how they related to him making contact over the internet with a girl called “Lucy” who did not really exist.
On November 23 he arranged to meet “Lucy” and her father at the Jury’s Inn, East Midlands Airport, believing both he and the other man would engage in sex with her.
And, on November 9, Bond attempted to communicate messages to the same girl for the purposes of sexual gratification.
Prosecutor Steven Taylor told the hearing police have now seized a number of computers and electronic devices belonging to the defendant which they will analyse and see if any further charges will be brought against him.
Bond, of Worcester Road, Malvern, Worcestershire was remanded into custody and is next scheduled to appear at Derby Crown Court on April 3.
