Man found with hundreds of indecent images of children and animals
A pervert who admitted to possessing more than 670 indecent images of young children and pornographic pictures of animals has avoided prison.
David Gregson, of Chorley Street, Orford, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday.
The court was told his then house on Bruche Avenue was searched under warrant by police in February 2017.
Christopher Hopkins, prosecuting, said: “Officers seized two computers and discovered 14 category A images, 53 category B images and 606 category C images of underage children.
“Some were quite young children.
“There were nine extreme pornographic images including sexual activity with animals and one involving torture.
“He accepted that he was responsible for the pictures but denied they were for sexual gratification.”
Gregson pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children, one count of possessing indecent images of children, one count of possessing prohibited images of children and one count of possession of extreme pornographic images at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on October 28
Alison Whalley defending, highlighted how Gregson had admitted he had a problem and had already enrolled himself on a course at The Lucy Faithfull Foundation, a charity which works with abusers to prevent further child exploitation.
Judge Anil Murray, said: “Any more offences like this and you will go to prison.”
He handed Gregson a community order, a 30-day rehabilitation activity and ordered him to enrol on a sexual offenders programme.
The 56-year-old has a sexual harm prevention order for five years and will be on the sex offender register for five years.
