Pervert caught by paedophile hunting team

A pervert caught grooming what he believed was a 14-year-old girl online has avoided a prison sentence

Nicholas Abbott, 47 years old of Grenville avenue, Chelston in Torquay appeared at court where he faced charges including sexual communication with a child and possession of indecent images of children and nine other related offences

The court was told that Abbott had contacted the online profile of who he believed belonged to a young girl. The pervert immediately sent a string of sexual messages.

In one vile message, Abbott stated that he wanted to take the child to a graveyard. He also said he had a specific desire on what underwear the child should wear.

However, the child did not exist and was instead a adult member of ‘United 4 The Kids’ who pose online as children in order to catch sexual predators who target children.

When Abbott turned up expecting to meet the child, he was met by members of paedophile hunting team ‘Justice For The Innocent’ who questioned him about his online activity.

The police were called and Abbott was arrested.

After a detailed analysis of his phone, police found 25 indecent images of children which were categorised in the worse level, which shows the rape of torture of children

Abbott escaped a prison sentence and was instead handed a three year community order

He was told that he must complete 80 hours of unpaid work.

A five year sexual harm prevention order was imposed and he was told to register as a sex offender for a period of five years
