A former East Kilbride man, now living in Motherwell who was convicted of sexually assaulting two young girls has now been sentenced by Dunoon Sheriff Court
William McCallum, 55 described by one of the girls in her evidence as a ‘family friend’ assaulted the girl and her sister while taking them individually, for an excursion on his quad bike in the forest near to where both families kept caravans in Inveraray
One of the girls who was just 11 at the time of the attack in 2015, described how the pervert had put both of his hands down her leggings to molest her.
At sentencing, Sheriff Ward said: “These are serious matters. You pled not guilty and went to trial. You was convicted because I believed what the girls said. Any involvement with a girl of that age is serious.”
The Sheriff Ordered McCallum to do 240 hours of community work.
He was placed on the sex offenders register for five years
