Man jailed for child sex attacks

A MAN has been jailed indefinitely for sex attacks on children aged as young as six.

David Dunn, 56, of Colwyn Road, Hartlepool, pleaded guilty to 17 offences against young children over a sustained period of seven years.

Dunn, who had a previous conviction for indecent assault on a 15-year-old girl, was locked up for the protection of the public, with no maximum tariff.

Judge Leslie Spittle, sitting at Teesside Crown Court today, said it was a “gross breach of trust” and that Dunn was a danger to the public.

Dunn was banned from ever working with children and must register on the Sex Offenders Register for the rest of his life.

A minimum sentence of three-and-a-half years was set as the term he must first serve before being considered for parole.
