Mum, 24, jailed for fling with lad of 15

A MUM who had sex sessions with a 15-year-old schoolboy while her partner was at work has been jailed for two years.

Alexandra Brown, 24, started the affair, claiming she was at a “low ebb” after being left alone with her four-year-old son.

She kissed the teenager in the kitchen of her home in The Gateway Darlington, Co Durham, and the next day invited him into her bedroom, saying: “I think you know why.”

Teesside Crown Court heard Brown became so infatuated with the lad she ended her five-year relationship with partner

Brown admitted having sex with the teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, between ten and 15 times during the summer.

Initially, the boy told Brown he was 16, but within days she knew his true age, and that she was committing an offence.

Victoria Lamballe, mitigating, urged Mr Justice McCombe to show compassion because Brown was now the sole carer for her son.

Teesside Crown Court was told that Brown was of previous good character and was now a single parent.

Miss Lamballe said: “There is a relatively small age gap between the two parties and it was a short-lived consensual relationship.”

Mr Justice McCombe said: “Those matters, it is submitted, will allow me to depart from the guidelines for these very serious series of offences.

“I regret that I am unable to accede to that submission. It seems to me that the defendant has to receive custody.”

After the fling ended it is alleged he demanded money, threatening to go to the police unless she paid up. He has been charged with blackmail.

Brown was also banned from working with children and put on the sex offenders’ register.
