Paedophile’s 6,000 sick pictures on computer

A PAEDOPHILE whose horrific crimes came to light after he took his computer to a repair shop, has been jailed for eight years.

Kurt Alexander, 43, was told he will spend a further eight years out on licence once he is released from prison due to the severity of his crimes.

Alexander, of Grosvenor Road, Westcliff, was sentenced at Basildon Crown Court after pleading guilty to 21 sexual offences.

As well as having more than 6,000 indecent images and videos on his computer of children being abused, Alexander also admitted indecently assaulting three youngsters aged as young as four over a period of several years.

Alexander also admitted two counts of making indecent images of children – some at the most extreme “level 5”.

His computer also contained images of pornography involving animals.

Alexander was rumbled when he took his computer to Discount Computers – Computer Repair Ltd, in Canvey Road, Canvey, to be fixed when it broke down in April last year.

A shop assistant noticed the images on the hard drive and alerted police.

Officers carried out a raid at Alexander’s home – then in St Anne’s Road, Canvey -– where they also found a memory card containing further sickening images.

Dressed in a tracksuit, Alexander sat in the dock weeping with his head buried in his hands as the details of his offences were read out in court.

Judge Alan Saggerson told Alexander: “You pleaded guilty to a constellation of offences of the upmost gravity.

“These offences were carefully planned and calculated – all conducted for your personal and perverted gratification.”

Judge Saggerson added how he believed there was an “element of genuine remorse” reflected in Alexander’s early guilty pleas.

However, in passing the extended sentence, he said: “I believe there is a significant risk to members of the public for serious sexual harm by you in the future.”
