GROPING SHAME OF TAXI DRIVER
A TAXI driver who groped two girls in the back of his cab will lose his job after losing his licence.
Majid Hussain gave them fast-food treats in Worcester, before driving to a secluded country spot and indecently assaulting them, Worcester magistrates heard.
He sat between them and fondled their breasts and bottoms.
Stephen Davies, prosecuting, said the 29-year-old had won their trust the day before when one mother booked his taxi.
The girls, aged 12 and 16, spoke to him outside the house as the mother prepared for her taxi ride. He then asked to meet them again as friends.
The same evening, he picked them up and drove to a Tesco store before taking them home.
The next day – Saturday, June 7 – they met at a shop and went to McDonald’s, in Blackpole, before driving towards Stratford.
“He stopped next to a meadow and sat in the back of the car between the girls,” said Mr Davies.
“He touched both girl’s breasts and bottoms and attempted to undo the 12-year-old’s jacket.”
He later asked the girls for a cuddle, but they refused and he left them near a sports centre.
Hussain, of Birchfield Close, Barbourne, admitted indecent assault on one girl under 14 and over 16.
At an earlier hearing, he had denied the allegations, saying it was the girls’ idea to meet again.
But he changed his pleas after his defence solicitor saw video evidence of their statements.
Andrew Childs, defending, said his client was distraught about his “immense lack of judgement” and urged guidelines in a pre-sentence report to be imposed.
“The loss of his licence will be an immense problem,” he said. “It could prove to be a life-time ban.”
Hussain was given a three-year community rehabilitation order, ordered to pay £55 costs and placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years.
