Ventnor Paedophile jailed for three years

A MAN was jailed for three years and placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely at Portsmouth Crown Court after he admitted nine sex offences with children.

Paul James Norman, 47, of Spring Hill, Ventnor, committed the offences between January and August.

For two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity with him, Norman was sentenced by Mr Recorder Peter Towler to two concurrent sentences of three years.

For two further counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity with him, he was given two 12-month concurrent sentences.

He was given another two 12-month concurrent sentences for two counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and for another similar charge he was given an 18-month concurrent sentence.

Finally, for two counts of sexually touching a child, he was given 12-month and six-month concurrent sentences.

He has been banned from working with children indefinitely.
