Soldier jailed for sex attack on child he babysat

A soldier has been jailed for sexually attacking a five-year-old boy six years ago.

Juhl Holdaway admitted committing an indecent act on the child in 2002 in Forfar, Angus, after detectives tracked him down at his Suffolk barracks.

Glasgow High Court heard the youngster told his mother about the assault while watching a television programme about featuring child abuse.

The incident happened when Holdaway, who has been sentenced to 32 months in prison and placed on the sex offenders’ register, was 16 or 17-years-old and babysitting the victim.

At that time the army helicopter technician warned the child he would hurt him badly if he ever revealed what happened.
