Mentally ill man avoids prison for indecent assault of teenage girl

A 43-year-old man who admitted sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in Watford has been given a conditional discharge.

Paul Goudie, of Kngsfield Road, Watford, admitted committing the offence outside a social club in the town in October.

The girl told police Goudie walked up behind her and ran his hand up her thighs while she was standing outside with her mother. Goudie, who was caught on CCTV, admitted touching the victim’s bottom.

Goudie, who is already under the care of mental health professionals, was given a three-year conditional discharge at Harrow Crown Court on Friday.

He must also sign on the sex offenders register for the same period.
